Commissions

Artistree - A new art commission website that looks promising. I haven't used it myself but I like the layout of it. There's an additional fee of $6.50 dollars per commission, keep an eye out for that!

Ko-Fi - A resource to support favorite content creators, along with the option to commission them as well. You will need an account to contact artists!

Vgen - My personal favorite commission site. It's really easy to browse artists, follow them, and contact them. You can also upload your own art and make an archive of commissioned art + your characters (as long as they're your's -- you can't upload copyrighted characters in your cast).

Ych.Commishes - An art auction site with a focus on YCHs (Your Character Here). There's a lot of great content here, but the layout is CONFUSING! I still don't know how to find the artists I'm following here.

References

Line of Action - A reference site full of models, ranging from humans, animals, and even enviroments. It also has tutorials/helpful tips if you're struggling with the poses provided. I LOVE this site!! It does have nude models so tread carefully if you're not looking for that, but there are plenty of clothed options as well.

WetCanvas - A forum created for artists by artists. Perfect if you're looking for still life subjects to draw or paint. This links to the gallery section, which is where the best content is.

Other Resources

Text Studio - A free-to-use text editor, with the finished products being saved as transparent PNGs. I used this for the banner of the site!

Writing Resources

Grammar

Online Text Correction - An auto correct site. Something I really like about this one is that you can words to a "ignore" list so the correction doesn't flag them. Very helpful when you're working with unique names!

Grammar Check - My favorite 'autocorrect' site. It works a lot like the copy of Microsoft Word I had in the mid-2010's. Perfect to spot typos that are easy to miss and/or forgotten commas. I've only used the free version of it so I can't speak for the rest of the site.

Xanthe Tynehorne, Esq.'s Compendium of Curious Words - Here's a fun one that's a Neocities native! A really cool collection of unique and rarely seen words. They might not fit into your story, but you'll definitely learn something here!

WordHippo - An amazing thesaurus site, my go-to place for synonyms!

Names

Fantasy Name Generators - An alternative to Seventh Sanctum -- despite what the name suggests, this site is an excellent resources for all types of names, even outside of fantasy ones.

Name Generator - Title says all! A site that seems simple at first glance, but you can provide additional info to get some really interesting names. I like how you can plug in time eras/decades so you can get believable names for the period your story takes place in. It also has some fun/silly stuff too, like name generators for pets and couple shipping names.

RandomGen - An excellent site to help get your creative juices flowing, and it was created by Orteil of "Cookie Clicker" fame! (One of my all time favorite games!)

Reedsy - A name generator site with lots of cultural and some time era options. My go-to site for European names.

Seventh Sanctum - Here's an internet classic. I best know this site as a name generator, but can also be used for characters, locations, and plots. It's fantasy driven so it likely won't be much help for slice of life or general adventures (like what I write!)

Serendipity - A location generator for fantasy stories, along with name creators. I really like the Japanese ones!

Plots

WritingFix - Here's a site so old you need the Wayback Machine to explore it! This is a fun vintage site filled with prompts to get the creative juices following.

Research

Internet Archive - Chances are you've probably already heard of this site, but on the off chance you're unfamiliar with it, this is an amazing virtual library full of media that is completely free to use. It is definitely my go-to site for finding niche, historical information. I used this site a lot to research how diabetes was managed in the mid-nineteenth century for my stories, and it was incredibly helpful. I was shocked by the amount of books I could find about the subject from the 70s and earlier! If you can't find the info you need through a search engine, you'll definitely find it here.

Writing With Color - An excellent tumblr about writing POC characters. I linked the navigation section because that's where all the best content is.

Other Favorite Sites

Lupin Central - THE site for all Lupin III-related information and news!

Lupin III Encyclopedia - An old school Lupin III fansite with a lot of great archival information!

MyRetroTvs - A really cool site that emulates TV entertainment from the mid-century!

The Oregon Trail - Play the classic edutainment game online!
